When I think of texture I think of a variety of surfaces. There’s also emotional texture, a variety of feelings and thoughts during the painting process. I experience from loss to hope, from peace to anger while I paint. The variety comes from a patchwork quilt of emotions stirred from my memories. All the emotions make a richer painting. I don’t have a concise explanation of my work. I can say that it comes from my heart. (See page 51 to view Cossey’s piece The Blue Years.)
